Colorado Cop Faces Domestic Assault Charges for Spanking

An Olathe Colorado police officer’s domestic assault trial has been continued as the prosecution has found more to add to the case. What began as a 3rd degree assault charge is being amended to include 2 counts of domestic third degree assault and 2 counts of harassment. The charges stem from a “punishment’ Officer Michael Percival doled out on his ex-girlfriend.

The former girlfriend stated that Percival had her sign a contract detailing what type of behavior was acceptable from her and suggested punishments if she acted outside of the contract.

After asking about a fishing trip last June, Percival reportedly forced the woman to undress from the waist down and gave her 50 belt lashes, 25 at a time.

According to this article from the Montrose Press, Percival had a pattern of abuse with the victim, doling out punishments when her actions didn’t line up with what he wanted. In addition, it is reported that he used his position in law enforcement to intimidate the victim, telling her they wouldn’t believe her over him.

This case is a good example of the relationships involved in domestic violence cases. Contrary to what many people think, you do not have to be married to someone in order for an offense to be considered a domestic offense. Domestic charges can apply to spouses, ex-spouses, people who share a child, or people who are dating or who have been in a relationship in the past.

In addition to the potential 3 year sentence he faces for each 3rd degree assault charge, Percival faces additional penalties because of the “domestic” classification of this offense. He may be required to undergo treatment or counseling for the offenses if convicted.

Domestic charges are some of the most difficult to deal with, both for the victim and the alleged offender. If you are facing charges of domestic violence you need someone on your side, looking out for your best interests.

The police officer needs the same punishment he gave the girlfriend. They should use a large built man and use the police garrison belt. Tear his behind up in public. See how he likes it.
