A man accused of road rage will now face additional charges in Garfield County. While it’s not unusual for a criminal case to expand, adding new charges, police-impersonation is a pretty rare charge.
Last week, John E. Dalessandro is accused of having a road side argument with another driver. Angry at the man’s slow driving due to car trouble, Dalessandro is accused of pulling alongside him and shouting.
He then supposedly ran that driver off the road and got out of his vehicle to confront the slow driver. He represented himself as the police, wearing a State Patrol t-shirt and flashing a badge.Watch Full Movie Online Streaming Online and Download
When the other driver called 911, Dalessandro got back into his green Subaru and left the scene, according to this short piece from the Denver Post.
Dalessandro now faces multiple charges including false imprisonment, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, driving with a revoked license, harassment, and felony impersonating a police officer.
This list includes some serious charges as well as some that we see all the time. Although police impersonation is an unusual charge, driving on a suspended license and reckless driving are not.
Driving offenses like this are quite common. Their frequency, however, doesn’t lessen their seriousness. For instance, reckless driving is a Class 2 misdemeanor that can lead to up to 1 year in jail.
Driving on a suspended license, also called driving under restraint, carries a minimum jail time. No matter what your sentence, you will likely be required to serve a minimum of 5 days in jail for this offense.
Depending on how many prior convictions you have for driving under restraint, you could also lose your license for at least another 3 years. If you think your current suspension seems to be taking a lifetime, try a 3 year suspension!
